A difference between traditional techniques  and digital publishing is that, with traditional techniques , like etching where you draw on a metal plaque, all done by hand, and it is very complicated as it takes a very long time, comparing to digital techniques which is done all by machine. So you can just click one button and it will automatically print for you, whatever you want , whenever you want. Another comparison is that when journalists write newspapers for the public there had to handwrite it and print all of it, and send it away, so the news would have been really late, compared to now, now you can use softwares, like quarkxpress or some people use adobe indesign both really ideal for newspapers, and with newspapers there can write a newspaper over night and it will be printed over night so it would be all ready fresh and all up to date. Also with the newspapers it is easier now because it is all on technology as with iphones there is a newspaper app which you could download all of your ideal newspapers which you would like to read, so whatever news you want instead off things you don't need or if there are irrelevant you don't have to have them, just what you want, all you have to do is swipe left on iphones and all the main news that you want will come up , it is also go as it is portable meaning that you can read the news on the go and it will auto update each day to all the main headlines .
